To give equines a much needed "Second Chance",  we welcome any equines that are no longer needed, wanted, or useful to their owners and place them in homes where they ARE wanted, needed and useful.  Most importantly, we will only place these animals in homes where they will be loved.

G.A. Holiday

Holiday is a 20 year old Arab cross who stands about 13.3 hh and weighs around 800 lbs. She is kid safe & can be rode bare back, with halter and lead lines. The woman's teen used to barrel race the mare but says she is not hot and is one the children can ride safely. She is ready for a light trail riding home and her adoption fee is $300 (cash) or $400 (finance). d/l G.A. Holiday's pics.

"Moose"

Moose was an extreme jumper in the jumping world and roughly 15 years old. He lost his sight in one eye and the owners spent 20K for a cornea transplant. Sometime after this, he crashed going over a jump and broke his hip. He had to undergo a major hip replacement surgery and is now in rehab/retirement. His vet said it could take 8 months or so of pasture time before we'll even be able to tell if he's ridable again. So for now, he's keeping Tuck happy down in our "Mare" retirement pasture.
Update: We brought Moose out of retirement and back to the farm. We tacked him up and what a gentle soul he is! Out trainer rode him and said he had trouble finding his "rear end" and realized he might need slowly brought back. He was very willing and did great. He's now ready for adoption! Moose's adoption fee is $600 (cash) or $900 (finance). d/l Moose's pics

"Three"

Three is a rescue from the Polk County Sheriff's Dept.  We know very little about him right now, except he is 15.2hh, 870 lbs, a grade QH, about 18 years old & gentle as the day is long! What a sweet boy he is. We would like for him to go to a retirement home. He would be an awesome companion horse as he is not aggressive at all. Would make a great pasture pet or yard dog :) Three is adjusting to food and picking up weight so nicely. We no longer hold his adoption agreement to experienced homes only. Three is not to be ridden! This is one horse that has the will to not only live, but survive in a happy way. What a sweetie! d/l Three's pics. His donation fee will be around $300 (finance)/ $200 (cash).

Update on Three. We've had him for over a year now. We've found that he falls asleep when you tack him up. It's a scary thing to see, as he shakes and starts to collapse to the ground. He'll never be tacked up again. Three has grown on me to an unbelievable degree. I have been through everything with him from starvation to founder. Our vet informed us that he is closer to 30 than 20, but otherwise healthy. It's not unusual for us to let him loose to wander to his stall on his own, like a barn dog. He is just awesome & we are so lucky to have him enter our family.

We'd like to thank Alice C. for being a sponsor to Three.

"Canela"

Canela is a 16 yr old registered Paso Fino. She foundered from eating acorns from her owner's property & was surrendered to us because of that. She didn't feel it right to leave her confined to a stall to keep her from the acorns/founder. She's an awesome horse! The older lady has done nothing but trail ride her. She is very safe for someone looking for a gaited horse. She's larger than the "typical" Paso. Donation fee is $400 (cash) or $600 (finance). d/l Canela's pics.

"Geri"

Geri is a 6 year old TB who is broke to ride and very sound & sane. He stands about 16 hh and weighs in about 1200 lbs. He was picked up by a kind gentleman who put him in his pasture for a couple years to gain some weight. he's now at a healthy weight and here at the rescue to be adopted. We've heard he comes from awesome bloodlines. We've rode him for lessons and he's doing well. What a gentleman he is! He's either "green" or "rusty" but still kind and willing.we haven't tried jumps yet but he is a number 10 mover at the canter! d/l Geri's pics. Donation fee is $900 (cash) or $1100 (finance).

"Siagon"

Siagon is an 8 year old TB mare who is off the track. She is an AWESOME one person horse. She needs an experienced rider. Once she warms up to you, you're very safe! She's got a lot of GO & Whoo! She likes someone soft in her mouth and an easy leg. Sit back in your saddle & she'll stop from a canter. Very good ground manners. Does stall weave at feeding time, so we keep her in a pasture, then into a paddock. Great for farrier, loading, bathing ... good at all of it! Would make a good dressage horse or she loves to trail ride. Her adoption fee is $900 (cash) or $1200 (finance).

"Pepsi"

Pepsi is not up for adoption but I would be willing to free lease her to the right home. She's almost 30 but in awesome shape! She's an easy keeper & VERY safe for any aged child to be around. she world championed when she was 6 & again when she was 7. She has "been there/done that". We only allow children under 50 pounds to ride her & we keep them on a lead line. She LOVES for a group of 4-H kids to come visit and bathe & groom her. Does not bother her to have 12-15 kids all around her (going in different directions) using brushes, water hoses, etc. If you have an ideal situation for Pepsi, give me a call. Let's talk? d/l Pepsi's pics!

"Cheyenne"

Cheyenne is a 20 yr old QH horse that can not be ridden. We received a phone call from a woman that bought her from a boarding facility. Since she was in such bad shape, we had Doc out and he determined that her hip had been broken at one time. There was nothing left to do about it since the broken hip had went untreated and healed back incorrectly. she is a very sweet horse with no bad vices. Cheyenne's adoption fee is $100 or you can foster her for free! d/l Cheyenne's pics.

We'd like to thank Alice C. for being a sponsor to Cheyenne.
