Plant City Equine Rescue is run by volunteers - and all donations are utilized to help the horses. The horses rely entirely on your donations and your help is urgently needed! Rescuing and rehabilitating our beloved equine friends is an incredibly rewarding experience. However, it is also expensive. PCER is diversified. We will assist horses through surrenders/neglect cases, local auctions- outbidding kill-buyers and buying sick or injured horses. We are an all breed rescue. There are several race tracks in our area leaving many TB horses in need of rehabilitation and homes. Intensive care vet bills can be staggering and normal routine costs in rescue work are financially draining. It is only through your contributions that we can do what we do to save the horses. Please help them with your donation. No amount is too small or too large and there is not one life that isn't important to us. They need you. We aren't yet a 501c3, but the paperwork is in process. So your donations can be tax deductible.
To give equines a much needed "Second Chance". We welcome any equines (and often other animals) that are no longer needed, wanted or useful to their owners. we place them in homes where they ARE wanted, needed and useful. Most importantly, we will only place these animals in homes where they will be loved.
We rescue horses from being auctioned for slaughter, take custody of horses abandoned by their owners, place the horses in foster and adoptive homes once one is found. We rehabilitate horses for use as companion animals, riding horses and therapy horses available to the general public. Plant City Equine Rescue offers programs to educate new horse owners with respect to proper care, management and training of their adopted horses.
What We Do
We are headquartered in Central Florida and specialize in rescue, intensive care rehabilitation rescue and placement. Since we own a small parcel of land, we also use the assistance of a foster farm and foster homes in our care.
