**Special Needs Program**
Horses are great companions for children with disabilities. They provde both physical and mental therapy. The horses we choose forthis program will be special need cases themselves. Some are odler or not as physically fit as they once were, but they are the PERFECT fit for special needs children. Some havingphysical handicaps and some just need to be retired to a walk and loved one. If we do not have a horse at this time, you can be placed on our waiting list. These are horses that would normally be sent to slaughter, but we want to give them the chance to live out their life to its fullest potential. So, we would like to take this opportunity to place these horses with disabled children at no cost. Not only will the child benefit, but these horses will have a second chance at life.
We might also be able to assist with providing some care and feed for the horse to individuals that qualify. If at any time you find you can't keep the horse, we would like to accept it back at the rescue. We are willing to let you take her home and "kick the tires" to see if this is a responsibility your able to commit to. If you or someone you know has a child that may qualify for this program, please contact us!
All interested persons will be screened, for the sole purpose of protecting the horses!
Donations: if you or someone you know has a bombproof horse that is retired and needs a light job, this program would be perfect for you too! This program would insure that your horse would NEVER end up in an auction or slaughter house, while living out its life being LOVED. You could donate your horse to this program or just foster out your horse working directly with the "foster family" to oversee its care and helping out as needed. We have also set up a donation account for this program. Please click on our "donation" button (located at the top of all our pages) to make a paypal donation for the special needs kids horses. Your money will stay in this account until needed. If/when it is needed, it will be posted in proper forum on what money is spent and how much is left.
