"Concho (Bozo)" He is now owned by a wonderful older woman who trail rides (sometimes days at a time). She wanted a horse that she could feel safe on and be comfortable. She was willing to work with his "issues" and has done quite well with him. She has changed his name to Concho! We are happy for them. "Millie" and "Cowboy"
"Blondie" Blondie went to another local single woman who has not ridden in a few years. This particular woman lives just minutes from the rescue and has given us a hand when she's been here, with other chores. The love she has for horses is obvious. Blondie will be the perfect horse for her to advance on. The horse has "push button" knowledge that will makeit exciting for her to advance to Blondie's level of riding. Again, the BEST of luck to you both! "Two-Tone" Two-Tone went to a 10 year old little girl who is in 4-H. She is just what Two-Tone needed. He finally has a steady job & loves it. The 4-H trainer is tickled with this horse as well. Another perfect match! "Pops" Pops was adopted by Stewart and his family. These caring people also took in another horse from us a while back named Joseph. Joseph was a wild Clyde and now Pops is taking up the task of teaching Joseph that us humans are sort of cool. They will be a learning experience for this whole family. They now have their forever home.
"Baby Girl" Baby Girl's doing great and has completely healed from her foot injury. Since she has been healed, they ride her as much as possible. B.C. went to a good family of horsemen who wanted to teach their son how to train a horse from the ground up. So they were taking B.C. as completely untrained and starting over. Ended up being a perfect home. Jack These people who adopted Jack already have a large backyard with 3 horses, goats, potbelly pigs and the biggest chicken we've ever seen. They wanted to help a rescue horse. They had preferred older ones as they only ride around the yard walking or walk trail riding. Perfect home for Jack. "Lil Chief" Lil Chief's adoption information forthcoming.
"Groovy" This horse was given to me (along with another horse named Charlie) by a loving owner who could no longer take care of them. She cared enough about them to letthem go to someone who would feed and care for them forever. Groovy is 16.3 hh and was underweight. His owner's daughter outgrew him after jumping him for a few years. He stood in a pasture with Charlie for years. Groovy is now at a barn getting 4 meals a day (along with treats) and has a 13 yr. old rider who is learning to jump with him. He is happy and in a "forever" home. Thank you Jackie!! ![]() "Cricket" This is Cricket. She was used as a brood mare for years, made beautiful babies and then was discarded. But that is OK because as you can see, my daughter loved her. Cricket is now in a good home where she gets lots of attention and good care.
"Jacks" This is Jacks, he was one of two horses that we were given out of this pasture. The hay in the dirt, is hay WE had delivered before he was given to us. My ex-husband and his wife ended up taking this horse, working with it and then found Jacks a good home. He was VERY skittish but not having any food didn't seem to bother him much. "Misty" Misty was adopted by an 8 year old who is boarding her next door and going to join the 4-H my girls belong to. she's starting riding lessons with my girls' trainer and excited about her new horse. We were told Misty was child safe, but WOW!!, she's much more child safe than we ever realized!!
"Son" This is Son, he is out of the same pasture as Jacks. He is now being ridden by my 12 year old in western games. He is a 22 year old QH who is dead broke. ![]() "Granny" Granny was rescued by us about 4 years ago. She is 20 and had English movements. She was probably a brood mare too. Was very underweight and had cancer in her left eye. After giving her much needed groceries and chemotherapy treatments for her eye, she was adopted into to a loving family. The older girl in the picture is her new adopted mom. ![]() "Renita" Renita was said to be "CRAZY". Was to be left ????, so we paid the 300 dollars and brought her home with us. She had MAJOR issues, but would overcome them with time and love. She is now more of a pasture pet to an older woman and is doing great. She may not be totally sane, but she is NOT crazy either. Amazing what a little bit of patience will do for a horse :) "Roxey" Roxey was adopted by a deputy in Hernando County, who has two boys and are thrilled to have Roxey. She just bought her first piece of property and wants to experience the care of horses. She's also taking Dee Dee, one of our retirement horses, into Foster care. Dee Dee is missing several teeth and needs her alfalfa cubes soaked daily, so she doesn't lose any more weight. This family is VERY excited about their new additions. ![]() "Gabe" Gabe was adopted by a family from Lake City, who are SO excited. They've been looking for the perfect horse for quite some time and were excited about Gabe. We wish them the best of luck and hope for follow up pictures.
